CAN VIVITROL HELP TREAT ADDICTION TO HEROIN & OXYCONTIN?
The FDA has now approved a drug – Depot Naltrexone Injection (Vivitrol) — for treatment of addiction to heroin, morphine, and other prescription drugs of abuse as well, including prescription painkillers such as OxyContin and Vicodin among others. Vivitrol is part of the Recovery Enhancement Modality that we employ here at Journey Malibu in the treatment of alcohol dependence.

WHY IS VIVITROL TREATMENT PRESCRIBED?
Naltrexone injection is used along with counseling and social support to help people who have stopped drinking large amounts of alcohol to avoid drinking again. Naltrexone injection should not be used to treat people who are still drinking large amounts of alcohol. Naltrexone is in a class of medications called opiate antagonists. It works by decreasing the craving for alcohol.
JOURNEY MALIBU is always interested in providing our guests the most cutting edge technology, one of the main reasons we remain open to using Naltrexone Injections — when such treatment is deemed appropriate.
We realize, and base our treatment philosophy on the premise that addiction is a personal situation. Although there are many common issues shared by those affected with addiction, we strive to provide a custom-tailored, personalized rehab experience.
We will continue to review and consider all available options for treatment – which may include Naltrexone Injections – until we decide which methods will be most beneficial for you.
If you’re serious about your recovery, and are looking for a treatment facility on the leading edge of rehab revolution, make Journey Malibu your destination.
