Gayle Randall graduated cum laude with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska and went on to graduate magna cum laude with a degree from the University of Nebraska. Since then she has worked tirelessly to improve her knowledge and expertise of the many differing homepathic avenues to treat addiction. She has appeared as a guest on countless radio and television shows speaking on alternative forms of therapy. She has also been published in numerous health publications, most recently in the January 2012 issue of USA Today. Clients attend adjunct  appointments with  Randall off site and receive private rides to and from.

In addition to her academic and professional success,  Randall also volunteers her time with such organizations as the Native American Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. In the past she has volunteered at the Sioux and Winnebago  Clinics for tribal members in Nebraska and free clinics for veterans and the underprivileged in California. Her interests also include karate, in which she carries a black belt, hiking, archery, and horse riding.

Edward earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management from California State University Long Beach. After years of working in Finance he knew that his true calling was to help others get better and returned to school to obtain a  degree in 2011. His  career began at an adult psychiatric hospital where he cared for the homeless suffering from mental disabilities and daily struggle with drugs and alcohol. Edward has a unique combination of strong nursing skills and strives to provide the best health care possible. He believes in building a relationship with clients. He seeks to acquire a comprehensive evaluation of every client by taking time to listen and understand their particular needs. Cassie came to us with seven years of experience working in the behavioral healthcare field before joining the Journey Malibu family. Having stood by multiple family members throughout their Journey to recovery, and witnessing the beauty that is unveiled through self-realization and learning to love one’s self, she has developed a passion for enabling this recovery in others. You will find Cassie working mostly behind the scenes, facilitating the compliance and operations of the business, working to always better the program, and give our clients the very best care possible.



Client Advocate

Jaqlyn graduated cum lade from NYU in 2009 with a BS in Media, Culture & Communications. She went on to study traditional eastern medicine & practices and is now a certified Holistic Health Counselor from the Academy of Healing Nutrition in Manhattan. Jaqlyn has a unique insider perspective on the establishment. After a decade of substance abuse&inner torment, a decision was made to make a shift. After 60 days as a client at Journey Malibu, that shift was made, and Jaqlyn had received the necessary tools to transcend her life.She spent the year after her recovery time on a spiritual sabbatical across Central American & Asia before she emerged back to LA in 2013 as a 500 hour Registered Yoga Instructor and Reiki Master, filled with tools of self-empowerment, awareness/mindfulness techniques and a whole new perspective on life and the process of recovery. Jaqlyn is grateful to be giving back some of herself to the institution that she claims to have saved her life.



Founder & CEO

Chris moved to Malibu in the 80’s and settled in the canyons above the ocean. Since getting clean and sober, Chris’s interests have been many, and his passions great. A dedicated sportsman, fitness trainer, cyclist, licensed private pilot, Yogi, arborist, and environmental activist, Chris has undertaken a lifelong spiritual journey and is now leading the quest to help others in recovery. As he likes to say, “Well being is contagious.”

From the early days of his sobriety 25 years ago visiting institutions, jails, prisons, and hospitals carrying the message of hope, spiritual foundation, and Recovery… right up to today as he manifests his lifelong, altruistic desire to be the compassionate pioneer of a new treatment modality (and morality!), Chris has always had the courage to live his dream. He is honored to work with such an expert cadre of professionals, all of whom he has attracted and assembled to provide cutting-edge clinical based /alternative medicine treatments to those who continue to suffer — as Chris once did himself.



Client Advocate

Claude King is a distinguished counselor and motivational speaker. He has accomplished creating and organizing several youth counseling groups and mentorship programs across the United States that has positively impacted the lives of countless teenagers transitioning to adulthood. Claude works tirelessly to begin the cultivation of excellence in the lives of everyone he meets. Currently he can be found giving lectures at the Dream Center, L.A. Mission and faith based organizations across Southern California.



Ryan received his Associates Degree from Rio Hondo College and is currently working on his Bachelors of Science Degree. He was first introduced when he received his Emergency  Technician (EMT) certification from UCLA. Then, he worked at a doctors’ office in Pacific Palisades as  assistant where he decided to pursue a degree in nursing, because he enjoyed helping people and seeing them progress during his care. He lives in Los Angeles and has always lived in southern California. Ryan has a passion for helping individuals, he feels that every client has unique strengths and it is important for him to help these clients utilize these strengths throughout their recovery. He found a new purpose in helping people with addiction after losing a very dear friend to an overdose. When he is not furthering his education, he finds serenity in staying fit, which includes swimming, surfing, running, playing basketball, and doing crossfit.



Danielle holds her Bachelors in Business from the University of Phoenix and served in the United States Marine Corps for seven years, before working in Corporate America for sixteen years. After moving to California in 2015 from Kansas, Danielle wanted to work in a more fulfilling field where she could help others by bringing love and compassion to those in recovery. Working at Journey Malibu has brought her so much joy in being part of the healing process of the clients. She is also a proud mother of three.

Matt Porter,  is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (MFC #42042).  He received his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2001.  He honors a holistic approach to mental health and addiction treatment and is pleased to bring a variety of healing modalities to Journey Malibu.  Some of his specialties include EMDR (healing through trauma), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Mindfulness Meditation, and Drama Therapy.  Matt enjoys helping clients to heal through past trauma, recover from debilitating addictions, and learn to live a life that is fulfilling and affirming of their highest potential.

Jani is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern through the BBS of CA. Jani grew up in Wisconsin and attended UW-Milwaukee where she graduated in 2011 with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Art. She relocated in 2012 to Santa Barbara County where she attended Antioch University and graduated with a MA in Clinical Psychology in 2015.

Jani has always had a passion for psychology and she is happy knowing that she is making a difference while helping people. She enjoys holistic, humanistic, and existential psychology. Self-exploration, self discovery, and reinventing one’s self are aspects Jani intertwines into her sessions.

Prior to Journey Malibu, Jani worked with court mandated dual diagnosis clients at Project Recovery in Santa Barbara. She also worked with People Helping People in the Santa Ynez Valley providing counseling to community clients as well as offering guidance at the local high school.

Jani enjoys working with addiction and recovery and is interested in continuing with this work. She is also interested in working with adolescents who have experienced trauma, while utilizing a creative artistic expression to relay information. Jani hopes to have her own private practice in the future.

Tyler London is a clinical therapist approved by the Board of Behavioral Sciences who specializes in mindfulness and positive psychology. Besides providing extensive holistic treatment for co-occurring mental health and
Addiction issues, Tyler strongly believes in focusing on acknowledging and developing positive qualities of clients as crux of therapy. Through meditation support, positive psychology, and exploration of the existential
nature of Recovery, Tyler attempts to strengthen client symptoms and relational outlook.

Before working for Journey Malibu, Tyler spent time working for Exodus Recovery in Los Angeles providing intensive outpatient individual and group therapy for clients dealing with co-occurring psychological and substance
use conditions. The Los Angeles native completed a BA in Psychology at the University of Colorado at Boulder and subsequently achieved a MA in Clinical Psychology with a emphasis in Marriage Family Therapy at Pepperdine in
California. His family systems approach works well with clients through providing them the opportunity to partake in family therapy and group therapy as well as individual therapy during residential treatment. Besides his Clinical Work, Tyler enjoys frequenting the many avenues and thrills of the Los Angeles lifestyle.

08Audrey Guss, L.Ac.

A licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, Audrey graduated summa cum laude with a Masters degree from Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine after her undergraduate studies at UCLA. Audrey listens and customizes each treatment to address discomforts common in early recovery such as pain, insomnia, anxiety, and digestive issues. She takes care to treat the root imbalances rather than merely surface symptoms – an approach that encourages lasting relief.

Audrey is passionate about helping others and understands the important role natural medicine plays in returning to wellness. She is grateful to play a part in clients’ recovery as well as help regain peace and harmony on an emotional, physical and energetic level.  In addition to Journey Malibu, Audrey maintains a private practice in Los Angeles.

09Jill Cotu – Massage Therapist

After graduating from Michigan State University and spending years in the entertainment industry, Jill answered the call to work in healing arts.  Now a
licensed Massage Therapist with the state of California, Jill received formal massage training at the Shiatsu Massage School of CA.  She has further studied
Somatic Experiencing with the Foundation for Human Enrichment, Energetic Deep Tissue Bodywork with Dr. Vincent Medici & Brian Campbell, & Swedish techniques at Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing.  Jill is also a Certified Reiki Master and feels her strength as a healer lies in an ability to be empathic and to connect with each client’s energy at a deep level.

10Laura Morgan -Hypnotherapist

Laura Morgan graduated with top honors from the renowned Hypnosis Motivation Institute in Tarzana, Ca., winning two of HMI’s most prestigious awards the Academic Achievement award and the Director’s award. She is a Certified Hypnotherapist with the Hypnotherapist’s Union Local 472. She is a Certified Master of Therapeutic Imagery with the American Hypnosis Association. Laura began her interest and study of consciousness and human behavior in college and received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1986.
As a Hypnotherapist, Laura Morgan uses the tools of Hypnosis and Therapeutic Guided Imagery to guide her clients in creating positive changes and growth in their lives. Using these modalities to explore the realm of the subconscious mind, negative patterns, habits, and beliefs can be uprooted, released, and replaced with positive new thoughts and beliefs. Creating new neural pathways brings about transformation, healing, and empowerment from the inside out. Laura desires to guide clients to connect with your own divine nature and inner wisdom to manifest freely the prosperous, healthy, happy life they desire.
Laura also brings 25 years of experience as a private yoga teacher to her hypnotherapy practice. She has also taught yoga for 8 years at a Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment Center for drug and alcohol addictions.  She is dedicated to helping others by providing a safe, trustworthy space in which learning, healing, and happiness can blossom forth.
Laura has a lifelong background in dance, movement, and theater. For 10 years, she performed cirque style as an aerial acrobat on aerial silks and rope. Laura believes we are all seeking and heading towards balance, peace, and inner knowing so that we can better share our gifts and talents with the world. In addition to Hypnotherapy, Laura Morgan has been exploring and studying healing, yoga, and the mystical/spiritual realms for 30 years. This has brought her to the understanding that Love and Compassion are the strongest healing forces in the universe. Daily she seeks to align and anchor herself and her work in this.

11Lisa Pink CCAPP- Client Advocate

Lisa graduated from Intercoast College in 2013, where she earned her certificate in Alcohol and Drug Counseling Studies. She is a Registered Alcohol and Drug Trainee II through CCAPP and has worked in the treatment field with both adolescents and adults for four years. She uses her knowledge and skills obtained through education and her own personal experiences to help those struggling with addiction. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her dog, exploring nature, and watching baseball.

12Kaci Ingarfill – Client Advocate

Kaci has a strong passion of helping others and overcoming their battle of addiction. She herself has fought addiction and overcame it by staying active in her recovery, with the willingness to help others she decided to attend Oxnard College to study addiction disorders. She is currently registered with CAADE (California Association for Alcohol/ Drug Educators) and will be a level 1 certified addictions treatment counselor (CATC1) in May through CAADE. She has a talent of getting others to open up to her about trials they have faced in their addiction and can help guide
them with tools they could use once leaving treatment. Kaci teaches clients about relapse prevention, stress management, breaking habits, nutrition and styles of
unhealthy thinking.

13Scott Lewis – Client Advocate

Scott Lewis earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology for the University of California, Santa Barbara while playing on the Division I Golf Team. His athletic successes, including competing in the 2009 US Open at Bethpage Black, lead to a short professional career before a growing list of injuries catalyzed a career change to Health Care. Scott got involved in behavioral healthcare after observing a family member reinvent himself through sobriety. In addition to working at Journey Malibu, Scott is a Staff Research Associate for the Emergency Department at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

17Jasmine Rojas- LVN

Jasmine was born and raised in sunny California. She is a Licensed Vocational nurse, currently in school pursuing an RN. On her free time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, twirling around in her Flying Yoga class as well as karaoke. She enjoys working at Journey Malibu not only because of the gorgeous scenery
but because she has a great passion for helping others.
